Your future self is going to need this
and you will thank yourself and be proud. Trust me!
👋🏼 Hi!
Let me tell you something beautiful about the Arabic language.
The word for human is “Insan” — إنسان.
And it traces back to “nisyan” — نسيان — which means forgetting
So in a weird way, the definition is baked in: we are the species that forgets.
Not “sometimes forgets.”
Not “forgets when life gets busy.”
Forgets by default.
We forget our goals.
We forget what we promised ourselves.
We forget the version of us that had fire in the chest and clarity in the head.
We forget to enjoy the small things.
We forget to say “Alhamdulillah” for what’s already working.
We forget what we’re building and why we started building it in the first place.
And when life gets heavy — when you’re tired, overwhelmed, disappointed, numb — you don’t just forget the plan…
You forget yourself.
We just need someone to remind us.
Yes we do!
But here’s the truth:
Your friends won’t always be there at the exact moment you need them.
Your family might love you and still not understand you.
And the internet? The internet will give you motivation that expires in 10 minutes.
So who’s left?
You 🫵🏼
There is nobody more qualified to remind you than the person who actually knows the truth about you. Which is why I want you to do something most people wont do.
But before moving forward let’s do an Honest Life Check in.
Write a future letter to yourself.
Not a journal entry. Not a to-do list.
A letter.
From current you → to future you.
Write it at your best moment. Write it at your lowest. Write it whenever something real is going through your mind.
Because one day, your future self is going to receive that letter in a random moment. A moment where they might be happy or broken. Wanting to keep going or ready to give up.
And in that moment, no one is coming to save them.
No one is coming to give them that extra push. No motivational video. No friend with the perfect words. Nothing.
And then suddenly, an email shows up in their inbox.
may be it’ll pop up on a fine day
Or a day where they’re one inch away from quitting.
And in that moment, no one is coming to save them.
No perfectly-timed motivational video.
No friend with the exact right sentence.
No magical sign from the universe.
Just silence.
And then…
An email shows up.
(Or a page opens. Or a note appears. Or a scheduled unlisted video notifies you”)
“Hi Future me. I’m Old you.”
You open it.
And (trust me) your first reaction will be any or all of these 😳 😲 🥹 🫣😁🥲
something moves inside you. Memories come back. Feelings come back.
The person you used to be starts talking to the person you have become.
And that one letter, written in 5 minutes on a random Friday, could change your entire life path in one single night.
I am not exaggerating.
So here is what I want you to do.
Go write a future letter. Right now.
Write everything. Be honest. No one is going to read it except your future self.
Write your goals. The things you enjoy right now. The things you want to buy. Where you want to travel. What places you want to see. What you are afraid of. What you are proud of. What you are struggling with.
Be raw. Be real. This is not for anyone else. This is you talking to you.
Hey! so here’s the real thing..
Writing a future letter is not just about the future. The act of writing it is a reflection of your current life. Your current position. Where you stand right now. And that reflection alone opens your mind to new paths you might take one day.
And then add one more thing most people avoid:
A reminder of who you are when you’re at your best.
Because the future you might forget.
And that’s normal.
We are Insan after-all
The secret benefit is actually a shake-up!
Writing a future letter isn’t just for the future.
It’s a mirror for the present.
The act of writing forces you to confront your current life:
where you actually are
what you actually care about
what you’re actually running from
what you’re actually capable of
And that reflection alone can change the path you take from today.
Now The practical part (keep it simple)
Pick one
Schedule an email to yourself for 6 months or 1 year from now
Write it in Notion and set a reminder
Write it in a notebook and hide it — but set a reminder to open it
Make a simple selfie video — Upload on YouTube — Schedule on 10 April 2027.
The most important (best) part
You don’t need an hour. You don’t need to dress up
You need 5 minutes.
Right now.
Don’t say tonight. Don’t act like a sloth.
Don’t say “when I have time.”
It takes 5 minutes.
You don’t have 5 minutes for yourself?
Go write the letter. Do it Now.
Your future self will thank you!
See you soon In Shaa ALLAH
Becauseeee (if you’ve been following me and my blogs lately…)
